Eligibility:
The minimum qualification for admission to the programme is Graduation in any discipline from any recognised University.
Reservation : Reservations for the SC, ST, OBC and Persons with Disability (PWD) will be made as per Government of India’s policies.
Selection of Candidates
The Selection of candidates will comprise of an All India Entrance Examination followed by a Group Discussion and Personal Interview.
All eligible candidates should appear for the Entrance Test (off-line paper-pencil test) that will comprise: English Comprehension and Essay writing, Verbal Ability, Quantitative Ability, Reasoning and Analytical Skills. The Entrance Test will be of about two and half hours duration. The number of questions may range between 90 and 120. The test will be conducted twice in the year (i.e. May and October) at Bengaluru, Bhopal, Bhubaneswar, Chennai, Dimapur, Guwahati, Hyderabad, Jaipur, Jammu, Kolkata, Lucknow, New Delhi, Patna, Pune and Thiruvanantapuram. The Test Centres are subject to change depending on the availability of a minimum number of candidates. Candidates selected on the basis of the Entrance Test will be invited for Group Discussion and Personal Interview in some major cities or at NIRD, Hyderabad. No TA / DA will be paid for any candidate attending the test or group discussion and personal interview. The Indian in-service candidates are required to apply through their employers. They may however, send an advance application.
Selection – (Foreign candidates)
The international candidates should apply through the secretariats of the respective international organisations viz., AARDO, CIRDAP etc. Organisational sponsorship for all the in-service candidates is essential. They may however, send an advance application. The eligibility parameters for international students are placed on the website of NIRD.
How to Apply?
Application form to be filled through online from our website (www.nird.org.in/pgdrdm). The applications sent by post will also be accepted through downloadable form available in our website. The filled in online (Hard copy) /downloaded application form should be submitted along with the Application Fee of Rs.200 (Rs.100/- for SC/ST and PWD candidates) through an Account Payee Demand Draft drawn in favour of NIRD- PGDRDM, payable at Hyderabad. The filled in application form should be sent to The Coordinator (Admissions), Centre for Post Graduate Studies, National Institute of Rural Development and Panchayati Raj, Rajendranagar, Hyderabad-500030, India, so as to reach on or before given date in the advertisement. Last date for receipt of applications from the students of North Eastern States, Jammu & Kashmir, Andaman & Nicobar Island and Lakshadweep is also mentioned in the advertisement form. Applications received after the cut-off date shall be rejected. NIRD&PR reserves the right to make changes to the Diploma Programme, its design/content and the process of selection, depending upon the exigencies without assigning any reasons whatsoever.
Programme Fee and other Costs
Tuition Fee
The Tuition fee payable by the students is Rs.1.25 lakhs for SC, ST & PWD category, Rs.1.6 lakhs for Open & OBC category. The tuition fee can be paid in three trimester.
Board and Lodging Charges
Board and lodging arrangements are made in the Institute’s well-furnished Hostel. International and Indian In-service students are accommodated in semi-furnished residential quarters in the campus. The annual board and lodging expenses will be approximately Rs 1.0 lakh for Indian students. This is payable in three instalments on the first day of each Trimester.
Caution Deposit
A refundable Caution Deposit of Rs 10,000 towards Mess Deposit @ Rs 7,000; Library Deposit @ Rs 1,000 and Hostel Deposit @ Rs 2000 is a requirement.
Seat Registration Fee
Upon selection, a non-refundable Seat Registration Fee of Rs.20,000 should be paid by the candidates. The same shall be adjusted in the first trimester fee. The balance of 1st Trimester Fee should be deposited before the commencement of the Programme.
Other expenses
Students will bear the cost of books, stationery, toiletries etc.
